Education to All
PRAYAS of the best efforts is to bring back the drop outs and children of underprivileged community into main stream education with the following measures:-
Learning centers for dropout/laggard : 3 learning centers under the system are running that are situated in two places one in the Howrah Corporation and two centres at Shyampur – I Blocks of Howrah district with an enrolment of 105 students.
Objectives:
- To popularizing education among people by making them aware.
- To reduce the incident of child labour in high concentration areas through improved enforcement, rehabilitating and more integrated provisions of services.
- To provide the light of education among the children.
- To strengthen their mental ability for coping up with the society where they live in.
- To bring back them in the mainstream of the society.
- To nurture the emotional, intellectual and behavioural aspect of the children to propel them for a better future in their life for the time to come.
- To involve them in the socio-cultural aspects of the society.
Activities:
- Enrolled no. of 75 students became successful and passed in the examination then admitted in the main stream education.
- Meetings with the parents are held at a regular basis.
- Action taken for enrolment of the children in the Govt. Schools .
Primary Education Program for School Going Underprivileged children:
Objectives:
- Enable the children of poor backward community for getting primary education.
Activities:
- 10 education centers are being continued at six villages of Shyampur – I , II blocks, Howrah and Falakata block of Alipurduar district.
- The centers are running for three hours a day
- Parents meeting normally hold once in a month.
- The teachers’ training is conducted once in a year.
Secondary Education Program for School Going Underprivileged students:
Objectives:
- To make opportunity of continuation of education from elementary to secondary PRAYAS is trying to play a role of catalyst.
Activities:
- Six coaching centers are being continued at six villages of Shyampur – I , II blocks, Howrah and Falakata block of Alipurduar district.
- Six centers are running for three hours a day.
- Parents meeting normally hold thrice in a month.
- Awareness building to counter trafficking.
- The teachers’ training is conducted once in a year.
